LiveStream for Pacific Orientation Programme At Otago’s Hybrid Celebration Event

In current times, being at an event doesn’t always mean you are physically there. It is becoming more and more common to host events with the addition of a livestream, for everyone to enjoy whether they are at the event, or at home. This is how the POPO (Pacific Orientation Programme At Otago) Students were all able to celebrate their achievements together.

One of the best parts of graduations is being able to celebrate your achievement with your friends and family. Unfortunately for POPO (Pacific Orientation Programme At Otago) Students graduating from their summer internships with health care providers around the country, Covid’s Red level meant that intern providers, family, and friends weren’t all able to be there to support their whanau and present the graduation awards. Gravity provided a hybrid event setup to allow this event to take place both in person, and online.

When planning your hybrid event, there’s a range of things to consider. Who will be speaking? Where will they be speaking from? Who will be watching? What do they want to see? Gravity has a wealth of experience in running live streams and knows the questions that need to be asked prior to your event. Our experienced team worked with the POPO organizers to tailor a technical solution that suited their event. This included managing a Zoom call with remote presenters, including the internship providers and guest speakers. An HD camera was set up in the physical venue, live streaming onto YouTube for those unable to be attend the physical event. For those who were physically at the event, we also provided world-class audio visual technology which included wireless microphones, 3.9mm pitch LED screen and crisp audio.
